Who drove their Hudson on Christmas day?

I sure did, four whole blocks, around to my parents for a huge Christmas lunch, then drove four blocks home. It was my gift to myself. It was a beautiful Summer day down the bottom end of this rock. Anybody up the Northern half brave the cold and snow? Pics would be even better.

Took my '53 Super Wasp out for about a six mile drive around town today on Christmas Day, 2015.  Weather was near perfect here in the Chicago area, for winter that is, with clear sunny skies, little wind and temperatures around 45 F.   Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and all the best for a terrific New Year with many happy and safe miles in our Hudsons!
  • Here in Australia we drove on Boxing day, (the day day after Christmas) to a car meet on Peninsula freeway , merry Christmas to everyone.

Ken, this picture is Casper but, with a light Brown Cape over its Ghostly Body.

Ive made so many Mods. to the original White Sheet that it was known for that I am almost afraid to put CASPER drawing back on the Trunk lid.as was there before .(he may not like it and may cause some Ghostly problems to happen)

Hope all is well with youall.   Pal   Rudy

I am in the process of fine tuning the 54 after the rebuild.  Did a short drive in 10 degree weather just to warm her up and then took it back to the shop for some adjustments.

7.5 ain't nothing to write home about.  Must be the 2 Holley's.  One heck of a ride, though!

Ken, you bring us a good point.  My 1954 rebuilt engine is sooting up the plugs with black carbon.  One source told me that I cannot get enough air into the cylinders with the stock carb.  Can the metering rods be changed to achieve this?  Where does one get the parts to do this.  And how do you tell what carb you have on the car?  My carb is the original that came on my 308 engine in 1954.

I took my 22 Essex out on the 25th but what was a real challenge was to take it out on the Southern California Horseless Carriage Club excursion on Sunday the 28th.  Put over 100 miles on it that day which is farther that any other trip I have put it through.  For those that have not been on the excursion it goes through Pasadena and Sierra Madre and other foothill communities.  They planned  the route to "exercise" the old cars.  Some very steep hills but I kept up with the pack.  Followed a big 1913 Studebaker touring car most of the trip.  The only casualty from the trip seems to be the muffler.  I must have lost a few baffles along the way as it kept getting louder and louder as the day progressed.  The little 4 sounded mean by the end of the day
