Ebay Hudson Stuff ??

I have two shops full of this kind of stuff. Anything automotive related and it ended up on my walls. Some of it has some value, most of it is "another man's junk." My sweet wife would give most of it away. I think that the advice that I would give would be to very carefully select those items that have meaning to you. The real stuff seems to grow in value, but some of the stuff (i.e. I have a collection of GM photos that are printed on cloth to give the impression they are paintings. They were on the wall of my local Chevrolet dealer when I worked there in the mid fifties--they gave them to me when I left for school. I have tried to sell them once or twice and my top offer was ten bucks each. I have paid more to move them over the last fifty years--so they hang on my wall.) I purchased some oil cans and licence plates at swap meets in the 80's for less than a buck each. Sold one set (1932) last year for $185. It is hard to tell if this stuff is an investment or just looks good against plain walls? Whatever you decide to do---have fun with it...0

I have a couple reproduction service signs - the 10½ inch Hudson Authorized Service sign and the 8 inch Hudson Terraplane Service sign. I bought both on ebay for under $20 each. These are heavy guage metal and look nice on my office wall.
As a matter of fact I just went to ebay and both signs, plus a clock, are up for bid at the moment - under $20 (ok one is $19.98):D. http://tinyurl.com/3xzxqo (or go to ebay.com and type in Hudson service sign in the search box.

Ron,
At one time I could see the walls in my garage but now I dont have room for another poster even on the ceiling. I have never spent a lot of money and have everything imaginable, inc license plates, intakes, headers, oil cans, suspension parts, electric hands, tail lights, pictures, posters, banners, flags, neon & more....... I attended a lot of Swap meets and if I didnt buy many parts I would pick up something for the 'Wall'... The most expensive items were the neon Racer signs.
I view it as 'Garage Art' but others may think its junk..It looks much better than plain walls and displays a Motorhead Theme....Its your garage so buy & hang whatever you like.0 -
Everytime there was some type of Hudson sign for sale there was always parts that I could think of that I needed before I bought the sign. I have tons of wall space and not much on them. It is awfully hard to drive a sign in the local parades. I am just waiting for all the old guys with the signs to die off, so I can buy their cars and Hudson memorabilia at their estate sale cheap!
In 30 years there will be some other guy writting the same thing on this blog about me.

A customer of mine brought me a Hudson car radio (condition unknown). I have it sitting by my desk in my office, that and the 202 head gasket hanging on the wall never fail to create an interesting conversation.0
