52 Hornet Sedan for sale in Ohio
This car is listed on craigslist in Ohio. She forwarded me some pics. Wants $7,000 firm. Selling it for a gentleman she is taking care of. She is not sure if it runs. They say it is the original interior but you can see it is not. Looks pretty solid from the pics. Looks like it has a 53 hood on it aswell. I may make them an offer...

It has a 53 hood/ornament, some paint work, a 54 engine, and who knows what else.0

The car is located in Rushville, Ohio. Anyone close enough for a driveby? Be interesting to hear what it is like in person.0

Doesn't look that bad for 7K. Yeah, it's got some wrong parts on it, but the hood ornament is an easy fix ('52 & '53 are the same hood). Certainly, you need to find out if the motor will turn over, even by hand. If you can turn it by hand, it will run (may not run worth a damn, but it WILL run). Mostly, it looks as though it hasn't had much TLC for some time and desperately needs some.0 -
This car was for sale about 6 months ago on Craigslist by the same seller. At that time they were asking $12,000. I called tonight and spoke with the seller. She is a very delightful woman. Her husband recently had a heart attack and his health has been declining and he is going blind. She says the price is firm. Also, She is leary about any other form of payment other than cash. She had a 1965 Cadillac that was literally stolen from them. A guy came to do some work on the car for them and said he was interested in buying it. They were trusting of him and let him take the car before paying for it. They haven't seen him since. Now they are going through the hassle of taking him to court for either the money or the car. Their address is 7245 Oakthorpe Road, Thornville Ohio. She doesn't know much info about the car. She swears that it is all original but we know better. She said that there is some rust in the fenders. When asked about the perimeter frame, she says it is solid but I doubt that she even knows what the perimeter frame actually is. Worth a look see to anyone who is interested. I was going to buy it, but I've decided that I'm too far in the antique car hole now. Sounds like a good opportunity for someone to me.

Well, now that changes everything. Initially, it sounded like a caretaker might be taking advantage of an elder. In this case, we have an elderly couple that have already been taken advantage of. That's despicable. I hope they get justice for the theft of the Cadillac and can sell the Hudson for a fair price.
Here's something that everyone's probably seen already.

Something stinks here. She told me she was "taking care of him" and she talked about him in the third person, certainly not as a husband. I heard her ask the guy approx how long he owned the car, she had no idea . I bet he has alheimer's. Nothing gave me the impression they were married. Smells as bad as a Nigerian banker! Scam!0
