I would contact the North Texas Chapter, you could try Lew Bird at HETlewbirdtx@aol.com (delete the HET before sending). Kelly was legendary and I'm sure he and his car's history were well known amongst Texan Hudsonites. I'll bet the back issue of their newsletter has its share of photos of Kelly doing various repairs on that car along roadsides from one end of the country to the other. He got timing gear replacement down to a fine science. I'll bet there are chapter members who would remember from whom Kelly bought the car.0

I don't know where "Cousin" Kelly got the car from - as Jon B says Lew Bird is a good one to contact.
I do remember at least one picture of Kelly parked along the road somewhere changing out another one of those d*&*^d timing gears. He machined a bunch of the things from aluminum, if I remember correctly - he was, among other things, a very good machinest.
I'm glad to see the car has gone to a good home - treat it nicely as you have a Terraplane that belonged to an HET legend.
