A fellow of my acquaintence in New Jersey, once bought and sold more fantastic Hudsons than I care to remember. He had two woodie wagons, and lots of '30's coupes and convertibles. One day back in the late 1970's he spotted a derelict '35 pickup, bought it, and hired a guy to drag it to his place. It was rusty but all there. A lot of people would have died for it. But he grew quickly disenchanted, it just wasn't quite right, so he had the guy trailer it back to the original seller. I shudder to think how little he paid for it.0

Jon - I assume you're referring to Steve S.? I turned him onto the '36-7 T station wagon & was wondering if you know where it is now & also, what happened to him?????????0
-
Not Steve in Long Island, Fred in New Jersey!0
-
RIGHT, LOL - OK, same questions apply?????????????0
-
'37 wagon passed from Fred to a number of people, all of whom apparently stored it away as you would a bar of gold, or any precious commodity, never showed it. Now owned by an HET member in Ohio who prizes it. I spoke to both he and Fred 2-3 months ago by phone, they then got in touch w/ each other.0

OK, thanks Jon, just wanted to know if wagon & Fred "intact" so to speak, LOL!
Trust I will see you at Pontiac?0 -
I Saw The Same Show, And The Pick Up Was Great. He Said It Came From Harrahs Collecton, One Of The Few Unrestored Cars.0

OH, that 35 T PU - it was brought to the Laughlin Economy Run a few years ago in transit to new owner.
It had not belonged to Harrah's but had been kicking around L. A. as I recall - Bill A. might remember more specifically.
Press Kale has a completely restored '34 T PU.0 -

If I remember right, Press told me there are only 2 of these and he has one of them. Ron0 -

Thanks for the heads up, dermott. I caught it here in Memphis at 4:30 this morning - I recorded it!!!!! Which gave me a chance to rewind and take a good look at it.
The hood ornament stuck out for me - is it my imagination or is that different than the ones used on the cars???
Still, great to see the old girl out and about and being used daily. Some cars shouldn't be restored and that truck is one of them.

And there could have been another '35 pickup if the timing had been a little better for me . . .
Several years ago - while I was looking for a Terraplane pickup and years before I got my '36 - a listing came up on Ebay for a '35 pickup for $500 out of Arizona. All it had was the frame, cab, doors, bed, and some beat fenders - nothing else. I almost went for it, but it almost looked like someone had cut off the back of the cab (from the pics that were posted - I didn't ask for others cause I wouldn't have any place to store it, not to mention it was half-way across the country). It ended with no bids, and I haven't seen it listed since.
Another listing popped up almost exactly 2 weeks after the truck - this time for a '35 4-door something-or-other. It was a restoration project that the owner had given up on, and it had a rust-free shell, frame, all front-end sheet metal, suspension, and maybe the driveline (but I can't remember to be sure) - for an opening price of $2,500. It had sold at that price, but I was practically kicking myself cause I could have taken the truck-specific parts from the first auction, and used the front-end sheet metal from the second to put that '35 pickup back together again (at least as far as the bodywork went).
Oh well.0 -
The ornament is the same as a 34 Coupe. I thought the 35 had the wings and not the oval with wings and the terraplane center emblem.0

This could be someone pulling our legs (due to the interest in '35 trucks, expressed here), but someone just posted a message in the Hudson chatroom, that he knew where one was for sale. http://www.classiccar.com/hudsonchats/chatpro.cgi0

hey jon, must ba a joke. we here at the club must know where they all are and accounted for,but there is allways the chance. dermott.0

I had a friend in Arizona take some pic's of a 35T Pick-up that was listed in Hemmings. This was about 6 years ago and if I remember correctly they were asking 5K for it. It was in pretty rough shape so I passed on it. About a year later I was called by someone in Connecticut who was looking for a 35T parts car as he had bought the pick-up from AZ. Have not heard anything about it since.

I saw the same thing (recorded it last night) and was so interested I searched for it on the computer and found this website. So I created an account, lol.
I thought I wanted a 1930s Plymouth truck, but that Cab Express was just awsome. And the way it runs! I'd do just what that guy does with it, drive it and love it. Maybe some light restoration but nothing to take away its character.
LOL well the chances of me getting it are 0 so I guess I'll have to go back to admiring Plymouth trucks for now.
Really, I'm a Ford guy but I just loved the look of those Plymouths, just like I do with the Plymouth Cranbrook.0 -

Welcome John, Stick around there are always some interesting conversations going on here. Also you might check out the Motorhood section of this Classiccar.com web site. There are several pictures and a whole group dedicated to Hudson Pickups with some great pictures of rare pick ups.
