Question is are they the same?
Or does anyone have a rumble seat lid.
Thanks
I saw a 28/29 Essex RS lid at a swap meet 2 weeks ago. He wanted NZ$300 = approx US$165.00 . But freight to the US may be the killer.
PM me if you want the sellers details or email me on HETDavid@websters.co.nz (Drop the HET etc)
The 28 & 29 lids interchange but I think the '30 is different.0 -
You might try writing this person -- he / she advertised a lot of '27-29 Essex parts for sale maybe a year ago. Didn't mention where they were located.

No, no, no, and did I say no? there are no interchangeable parts between the '29 and '30 models, except for some engine and brake parts.

I had the same questions about compatability so I drafted a spreadsheet to keep track of what I found out. It is posted on my website. I welcome all comments and additions....

David, very good information your spreadsheet, but you have some incorrect data pertaining to 1930 Essex Front and rear wheel, and differential bearings, as they are different numbers from the earlier models.
Front wheel numbers: 14132 / 14274. Rear wheel 3381T / 3329. Pinion 26112 /26283 and 3188A /3102A

Geoff,
Thanks for helping to correct the information on the crossover spreadsheet.
You mention that in 1930 it changed from prior years. Do your comments also apply to 1931?
When you say "Front wheel numbers: 14132 / 14274", I can use some clarification. My spreadsheet has four entries: Front Wheel Inner Bearing - Cone & Cup and the same for the outer bearing. You show two numbers. Which are these for?
Any of you Essex owners out there ... this crossover spans all the years so it would be great if more people could review it and make comments. This can become an invaluable tool to all Essex owners.
Thanks,

Yes, 1931 are the same. The numbers refer to the front wheel bearing cones and cups, inner and outer.
