:rolleyes:Guestion, How do you restore a car when it is heavily modified in the process? This car started out as a coupe. What did they do to strengthen the body? This car has been on EBay a few times, could not find a sucker then so they are going on craigs list. This car belongs with the current owner and they should enjoy it as someone is dreaming with the asking price. Enough Said. Arnie in Nevada:D

Maybe it started as a sedan brougham trunk looks short. Or they mixed and matched sheet metal. Chrome bumpers and wheels might help this creation but I don't find the dash as attractive as your stock '49's are. Looks like someone may have wanted a convertible and decided they were out of reach. If he does by some miracle get $30 K maybe he can get that stock convertible.

HAVE TORCH----WILL TRAVEL----Hudson sheet metal dumped on top of who knows what. Top down, ok i could learn to live with it. Top up,this puppy has got to go !! UGH!!!
  • This thing was up for sale about a year ago on ebay if I remember correctly. Didn't draw much bidding though. Price was about where it is now. Likely at that price it will continue to stay right where it is.

  • Put more than five folks in it and you couldn't open either door.

That would be a riot at a parade
everybody would need to jump out!
  • And why a dang TPI small block Chevy? Is there something wrong with the Hudson engine?
  • Wow, I thought it looked pretty good until I saw the picture with the top on it, that is just plain nasty looking. I didn't think the car was worth the asking price and I couldn't understand the power train choice but on the surface it looked okay. Too bad some people can leave a good thing alone.

You kind folks are being rather gentle on this craigs list entry. My take on it is that it was a 4-door. Just goes to show you that not everyone is a designer--

No room in my shop for it...
  • lol..looks like a hearse with the top up..maybe you open the trunk to slide the casket in. :D

Think the listing is confused....not Parade car but Circus clown car. After all the average size of a clown has grown over the years!!

Interesting but I agree with '37'--UGH!

Come on guys, it was right in front of us all the time. All you had to do is look on HP Works of Colonial, Virginia's website.

    http://www.hpworks.com/services.html

"At H P Works, we strive to supply two things; Customer Safety, and Customer Satisfaction. As most of our customers are nuts we can't guarantee either one, but we do try. "

See, they knew this guy was nuts and yet they butchered a perfectly good, rust free car.

Additionally, if you look at their site, they have nothing to do with restoration, rather they are an engine performance shop. It doesn't matter to them if the car snaps in two, just as long as it is doing it at 150mph. Just what I am looking for in a parade car.

    Aaron-

If you hear of a parade where they are doing 150mph, please give me a call, I'd like to attend. If nothing else, it would be the fastest parade on record . . . literally.
  • We had a parade once that almost went that fast. We were the lead group and on horse back and the group behind us were civil war reinactors. As soon as we got moving the group behind us fired off a howitzer, needless to say we hit the end of the parade at a gallop. We don't do that parade any longer.

Look at nearly any NA$CAR race - that qualifies.

Well, that's true, but I was kinda hoping for the giant-balloon-animals-whole-kinda-thing, you know? A six-story Mickey doin' 150? Now that would be somethin'!!
