charging a car battery without driving it

I have a postive trickle charger.

Can I charge a negative charge battery ('50 C6) with this and how?

Thanks

I've never used a trickle charger but wasn't aware they were positive or negative.

Can't you simply attach the red clamp on the charger to the positive terminal on the battery (connected to the ground on your Hudson), and the black clamp on the charger to the negative terminal?

Probably the safer way to do this is to attach the black to the positive battery terminal and the red (on charger) to a good ground point on the frame, away from the battery. Lest it spark, and send you to The Great Hudson Factory In the Sky....

What I do is, hook up a timer with the charger and just give it 2 amps for an hour every night, always got a full charge that way.
