No clearance problem on inside ?--- Did you weld them on inside to be certain they would not back out any ? If no problem looks like this would be the way to get ZERO slop in the threads/bolts which is gonna be pretty hard to do with ANY used hub. Also I never thought of useing drive in studs if the right size could be found , don't think much of drilling bigger holes with no more accurate equipement than I have . BUD

My threads were in good shape- I dont like the lug bolts , I used 1/2 by 1 1/2 grade 8 cap screws , they are all thread in that length , I put them in with an impact gun , thought about spot welding them but dont think thats necessary on mine , depends how bad your threads are. the drive in studs would need a good size hole drilled in the hub and they should be swedged in too - thought about that first but decided on the bolts , did loc tight them too.
  • Sounds like a plan to me , I have 2 holes in one I would be afraid to put the gun on, and all of them I can wiggle the bolt a tiny bit when ran in but not up tight, that's what is wrong with them . Thought about the permanent LOCTITE that needs heat to release but may have too much wear for it to work so I think I'll go the spot weld route . Thanks , BUD
