  • Russmaas,

There is an outfit in Florida called Klassickollection 800-365-5764. $150 for steel, $400 for stainless. 1933-54 Hudson, Essex, Terraplane. I have not used them, but have been thinking of ordering one. Anyone out there ever use them?

The company in Fla is advertised in the AACA Mag. Kepich Exhaust
    http://kepichexhaust.com/

I have used 3 of their systems with good luck, 2 on stepdowns 1 on one of my 29's. However, a friend of mine used them for a 57 and the installer said ther was problems with it and made up a new system. Who konws if the problem was the system or the fact that the installer didn't make ig

Russ, i would look for a small local shop. last year i replaced from the manifold back, 2 1/4" aluminized for less then any of the suggested places are showing without freight for 2". (of course kanter wants 375 for plain mild steel) i was in and out of the shop in an hour or so for $150 incl tax (could have been 120 but i upgraded on the muffler) new clamps, hangers and i didn't have to mess with it and it definitely fit. not to mention they probably couldn't build my pipe mail order - i'm 2 1/4 because of hash manifolds.
  • I used Waldron's Exhaust and was VERY pleased. http://waldronexhaust.com/

For stepdowns, they charge 325 for a complete stainless system, and 225 for aluminzed. Awesome workmanship, and one of the easiest fitments my guy had ever seen.
  • Avoid Keppich AKA Klass/Klassic collection. Anyone want details? PM me.

I have had very good luck with Classic Exhaust in OH. Phone number is:

1-440-466-5460 They do good work and if something doesn't fit right they will bend another pipe and send it to you no-charge. I know this is expected, but they actually come through and do it promtly and with courtesy. I Highly recommend them.

    Have a nice day

  • local shops, I had my pipes bent for $120 in stainless, by the local mennonite boys. They did a great job.
  • Russ, There was an outfit that the late Jim Fortin ran called Tailormade in Whitman Mass. I last heard some of the family members had continued this business. Over the years the two different ones I bought bolted right up-no problem. Jim was a good guy and made great exhausts. Last number I had was 718 447 5916.

Thanks for the reply on vendors. I had Keppich send me a set a few years ago but seeing that bad feedback makes me wonder. May be appropriate just to use a local shop instead.

    Thanks
  • I too would avoid Kepich Exaust; I have my reasons

I will second the avoid Kepich. I got my 8 exhaust from them a number of years ago and it took some cutting and bending and rewelding to get it to fit. I have heard good stuff about Waldron and met him at Hearshey a few years ago. I mentioned Kepich to him and he went on a little diatribe about how the guy was not competient to bend metal. Might have been the competitor situation but he seemed pretty well versed in what his and Kepich's products were all about.
  • I have to second Waldron's. Used them 3 times. Excellent.

Bruce Silva has an add in the newest WTN. I have seen his headers and they are really nice!
  • I used Waldron for several exhaust pieces also with no problems and price was very good. No experience with the others
  • Well, this thread is kind of old but it's always a relevant topic.

I bought a Kepich system for my 1951 Pacemaker ($170 + $40 shipping) in October 2007 and finally got around to installing it. I can't get the pipes simultaneously to clear (a) the drive shaft, (b) the center driveshaft bearing mount, and (c) the right rear shock. I think I can get the center pipe to clear (a) and (b), but I guess I'll have to have a local shop cut and perhaps rebend the over-the-axle pipe to miss the shock.

Any similar experiences? There's negative feedback on this vendor on the 'net. Probably should have stuck with Waldron, from whom I bought my first system after meeting him at Carlisle 30 years ago.

just got my new mufflers installed which i obtained from www.waldronexhaust.com they fit perfect got pipes done at a local shop. have found that local shops in this area are into selling what they have in stock. not obtaining replacements for older vechiles. local shops can bent pipes and do a good job, thanks to waldron's for good service,
