36T Odometer

I am working on my 36 Terraplane Speedo/Odometer, all of the numbers on the odometer are faded and flaked off, has anyone restored the numbers. Should they be painted or some kind of decal/sticker?

    When I sent in my 36 gages for restoration, they said that they had a good selection of NOS mileage 'wheels', but if they didn't have one that would work, they also have decals.

    If you call one of the instrument shops, they might sell you some .

    I think that we need to do an inventory of all of the '36T folks on this forum, perhaps we can start a support group. If you are inclined, PM me with the model of your '36T and you email and I will try to get something going. FYI - I have a '36T series 62 - 4 door sedan, freshly restored (well almost finished, still Electric Hand to finish and some other little stuff.)

    Thanks Jeff, I am starting a list. I am in the process of restoring my Elec hand unit. I actually have two and I am using one for reference so I can get it back together correctly. I understand that it is a pretty simple gizmo. The rewiring of the steering column unit is a pain. Anyway if it is successful, I plan to restore the 2nd unit and make it available to someone who needs one. I plan to get back to this in the fall.



    I just pulled the engine out of my '50C6, "the Queen of the Road," to rebuild, also front fenders, hood and rocker panels for body work. I plan to convert the old girl to 12v for trailer hauling purposes and have her repainted. I got Queenie from the original owner and I have put 25,000 miles on her and done almost nothing, so at 94K it is about time. We are pulling a '58 DeVille, "canned ham." This project is scheduled to be finished before September as we want to take a camping trip up to the Pacific Northwest in the fall.

    WoW Richard! Sounds like you will be busy.

    Let me know when that electric hand is done, please. Depending on my situation I would really be interested. Looks like mine was just unplugged at the end of the steering column and everything removed from there. Including the top piece of the transmission as near as I can tell.

    Depending on where you end up in the Pacific Northwest let me know as I would love to meet up somewhere along the way.
