Naaa! not a real Lebaron bodied Hudson
Sure! This car's been duping people left and right. All the way back to the fifties! There's no such thing as a LeBaron bodied Hudson. Annnd... Bob Harris lied when he entered a 1928 LeBaron bodied Hudson Roadster in the 2001 Great Race in Anaheim Cali. Dumb magazine, (pictures below), stakes it's reputation on heresay. I don't know? Where do people get these crazy ideas? But seriously folks. The evidence is weighing in,and it's looking real good that There's not only one, but possibly two LBRs Thanks for lookin in. Bud Sisto

Bud-
I didn't really understand your post. Are you saying that there is no such thing as a Lebaron-bodied Hudson? Are that there are two known? The one at this year's Nat'l. showed up and was touted as one. Looks just like the one in the picture you posted.0 -
Hey Paul. Thanks for your comment. I own the car in the post. It is the car that was at the 100th meet and I was being sarcastic in my thread. I recently aquired the pictures I posted which further purport the authenticity of the LeBaron body, although one might conjecture that this article still does not prove anything, but the weight of the facts that I have gathered lean HEAVILY toward probability. After the club librarian John Ohalloran sent me the original copy. I was sold, so I thought that some sarcasim might stir some conversation. I think it worked Thanks again Bud Sisto0

Dear RL.I own the car in the post. Thanks for taking your time to respond. As you might read in my other reply, I was being sarcastic. I'm coming across more and more info that says it seems more than inebitable Lebaron would have built multiple bodies for Hudsons, especially in 28 as they designed the roadster body for Hudson. Could very well be they built a couple examples to sell their design to the company. I don't know that designers built clay models that early so how else? And yes I recently found a website for the great race in California that listed as one of the entrants in the 2001 race a gentleman named Bob Harris entered a 1928 Lebaron bodied Hudson Roadster which blew me away, although I have yet to get much info from it.Bud Sisto0

Thanks for chiming in 46H. My post was sarcastic as I'm the owner of the car on page 114 and recently came upon the article I attached which helps to authenticate the car. There are people that for some reason do not believe the Lebaron Emblems are for this car, that, they were put on there (if they themselves are authentic) from another Lebaron bodied car and that Don Butler had the wrong information and I guess so did the people that published this article(the look back). At some given point I'm going to find enough evidence to have it put down in Hudson history one way or another and the story will no longer be heresay, but fact, voted unanimously by the Hudson Historians. I have a long road, but I'll stay the course0

Hi Alex,
Great looking car, It has to be a rare one indeed!
Any chance you've got pictures you can share - or a website about your car?

From this web site:

In 1926 (another source says 1927) LeBaron was purchased by Briggs Manufacturing Company of Detroit, which supplied bodies to Chrysler, Essex, Ford, Hudson, and Overland. LeBaron became their subsidiary, handling special custom work and providing design ideas for the mainstream business.
So the connection is there since, as stated above, both Essex and Hudson were using Briggs bodies and Briggs owned LeBaron. Since most custom bodies were supplied to customer order, as opposed to factories, why wouldn't somebody who was a Hudson owner go to Briggs/LeBaron and order a custom body for their Hudson.

Hey Rambo! I've posted pictures before, but I would be more than happy to post them again. I'll post them shortly. Thanks again for your interest Bud Sisto. (Alex is my sons name. I had trouble with the name and password thing with mine)0

I have a photo on the wall of my shop and I have to go take another look at it because it looks very much like the car in the article. I'll get back to you...0

Well, thanks Bud, for explaining. I saw the car when you rolled it out of the trailer at the National, but at the time there were about 50 people around it, and didn't get as good a look as I wanted or get a chance to meet you and talk to 'ya.
Super interesting car, and I'm glad you are so enthused to have it. I think it's a beaut! What are your plans for her? Sure would be a great prospect to restore, a whole lotta rewarding fun, and just my kind of project.
Congratulations on your super find and I hope you keep us all posted of your findings, ambitions and info relating to this extraordinary, and rare Hudson.0 -
