  • I just hope it stays sold this is the second time he has sold it.

I think it was well bought. Not a steal, but worth the money.
  • It is to be hoped that this Hornet did indeed sell instead of the buyer having someone or several people bid up the price in hopes of getting a minimum price for it. I'm always a bit suspicious when something like this comes up for sale on eBay a second time or third time.

I always like it when I hear comments such as "not difficult to get a title" or, in other cases, "easy restoration". Then why isn't it already done?
  • Man, the Pepto-Bismol pink dash and ugly pink & red redone interior are just too much for me to take! Why someone would finish the exterior that nice and then cheap out like that on the interior I don't understand. Better to leave it original so someone could do it properly. If I bought that car I wouldn't want one cent of the purchase price going toward what's been spent on the inside of that car!

:eek:If getting a tittle is no problem, why didn't the seller get one? Of course it may depend on whom wyou get at DMV. I had a clerk{Blond} tell me that I woulsd have to find out who bought the car new and where it came from. Right! after sixty years and the car was abandoned in the 1950"s. It did work out as I found some one who did not drop out of pre school and they were a big help. I bet this same Hornet will turn up on Ebay agaain shortly. Arnie in Nevada
  • In my experience, it was easy to get my Mercedes Unimog titled.... even here in California. I sent the bill of sale (with Vin #, etc) to Broadway Title company and they sent me back a title. Cost $250 bucks? They do all kinds of strange vehicles. I took the title to DMV and it was registered. No big deal.

Regarding the car, I saw pic's of the underside and it was questionable. I thought the car should be looked at in person.
  • Broadway title of Alabama is under investigation by the state of North Carolina. Anyone in NC who has used this company in the past 6 or so years is subject to an unannounced visit by a DMV inspector to "check" the VIN numbers. Some 1200 vehicles in NC have been and are still being looked at.

If Broadway and other title companies are legal in your state you're in luck. Using a title service such as Broadway is not legal in some states and North Carolina is one of them.

    Just my 2 cents worth.

The 39 Martz roadster above was a "freebe" picked up out of state and transported to my home here in Utah. I contacted my local Utah Highway Patrol and they came over and we looked over the car. My luck was in that I was able to find the identification plate on the car. I filled out two pages of paperwork. The Highway Patrol signed it and off I went to my local licence plate place and applied for a title. Two weeks later it was here. Now I would call that simple. By the way, would love to have a bunch of you Hudson folks move to Utah. It would help our local chapter...:):)

Interesting info. They were very upfront on what states accepted their title and who didn't. In fact, I think they may even offer a money back guarantee. They do alot of advertising in Military Vehicles mag, etc. Not a fly by night company. As far as verifying VIN's, it is up to the owner to be accurate. When you take the car to DMV to register it, they then verify the VIN on the title with the car.
