Howdy - to be more helpful, you need to be more explicit & tell us if they are Hudsons or Terraplanes. Hudsons are more rare, were more expensive, & therefore more valuable today.

If you could post the serial #s (found on the rt. front door post), we can be of greater help too.

How complete they are and in what condition determines their value.

Possible to post pics? They definitely have a "following".

You started a thread on this about 9 months ago, http://classiccar.com/index.php?option=com_jfusion&Itemid=62&jfile=showthread.php&t=15942 . Has anything changed (like the asking price)? Or are you just asking for more opinions?
  • Hey John ..Yup that was me..I asked about them then for the neighbor, he got some responses, but now I'm thinking about buying them for resale.. just tryin to find out what to offer him and still make some profit.. Todd
  • You're going to get a lot of opinions on this. Lots of folks think sedans are good only for parts cars. I love my '39 Country Club Eight sedan (unrestored) and recently bought a '40 Super Six sedan, also a little rough but excellent mechanically, and would probably buy yet another if it came along and the price was right. As I recall the prices were around $1500 each, correct? I paid a little more than that for my '39 20 years ago. I think that was too much back then, but I don't regret it a bit. It's not too rusty and the floors are mostly solid. I'm sure I saved it from the crusher.

I'll be honest, redoing the brakes and mechanicals to make my '39 safe cost me more than I paid for it, and I haven't even started any cosmetics. So be prepared to invest a little (or a lot). But when I take it to local car "events" it gets more attention than some of the pretty ones.

    Does that answer the question?
  • Thanks.. just the kind of responses I'm looking for.. Tryin to get fired up for this purchase..starting to sound like I can turn a buck, and maybe help some hudson people out with a part or two.. my MO is to get a deal, then sell, giving customers a great price also.. It's SOOOO cool giving people cars or parts at a bargin price, but still makin a buck on the side,,Met lots of cool car folks, and love the respect of being a down to earth seller..Thanks Todd

If you part that '39 let me know. I need a front bumper and the "butterfly" hood hinge for mine.
