Looks like a decent car.
It appears to me that the car has had some paint work though, looks like some rust issues on the rear quarters was "glossed" over on both sides.0 -
Looks like the wiring has been updated as well.0
-
I don't care what's wrong with it, I want it.0
-
Hey, is there anybody in the neighborhood that would be willing to look at this car? Drop me an e-mail, if you'd like.
I'm going to look up and find out where Kissimmee(sp?) is. Maybe close to Orlando?0 -
He doesn't mention OD, but I think I see an OD control knob under the dash. Have submitted a question on it.0
-
Kissimmee is very near to orlando0

Does the interior look right to you guys? Is it correct? Seller says the vinyl is original and only the fabric has been replaced with factory correct material.0

The pull grabs on the back of the seat did not originally have the Bedford cloth on them, that's been re-done, apparently when the seats were done.0 -
Aside from the pull grabs, you think the rest of the interior looks correct? I read somewhere that Hollywood trim level cars had dashes that matched the exterior color of the car, but I'm unable to confirm this.0
-
Seller says the car has been converted from 6V to 12V. Not sure what to think about that. I own other 6V cars and have no problems with them, and the conversion of this one worries me. Opinions? Good or bad?0

Is the radio correct to the car? Although it fits the dash well, it does not appear to be the correct radio for the car - although I am not sure.
Also - You can also see some aftermarket speakers in the door panels of the car.
Keen eye. The radio is incorrect as are the AMC air cleaners. Still, most people wouldn't notice and these are easy fixes.0 -

As far as I know, the Hollywood Interiors did not have dashes that matched the exterior color of the car. However, in 1954 both fabric and vinyl interiors were available. Many times the vinyl interior would have dash colored similar to the exterior color, but not the exact same color. The best example of this would be lower body "Lipstik Red". Vinyl interiors were also available in green or blue, but the green and blue interior painted surfaces did not match any of the exterior colors available. The radio is the deluxe 8 tube that became available with the announcement of the 1953 models.

I am about 50 miles from Kissimmee. If someone is SERIOUS I would give it a visual for them. I don't want to just go kick tires. PM me if you are serious.

Notice it has what appears to be a whole new wiring harness in the car, as seen by the fuse box. Personally, I'd trust a new 12V conversion over a nearly 60-year-old 6V original system!0 -

Kawenger - I sent you an e-mail, but postmaster returned it as undeliverable. Please send me an e-mail @ HEThudsonjetman@hotmail.com (drop the HET) and I'll try again.

I'm seriously watching this car.
Here's my take:
12v Conversion: Hard to tell from the pics, but I'm with Patrick66, better new than 60-year old rat's nest. I'm not really fond of car/house fires, anyway. Been there, done that.
Radio, Aircleaners, Pull Grabs, speakers in doors: Easy fixes, no sweat.
The answer on the ad is from a question I posted to the seller.
44K orig. mile car that appears to be well-taken care of. All I need is a visual from someone I know or trust (plan in progress).
Dash: I'm not a leading expert, but I believe HLWYDS are no different than other Hornet body styles, i.e., in '52, all seniors had leather-grained dashes. This car needs it to be re-done or at least freshened up. In '53, Hudson went to painted dashes on senior cars.0 -
Just checked the bidding. Price went up 7K in the last 20 hours, so we'll see. There's still over 5 days left till the bidding ends.0
-
Sold before the auction ended. He had said he was contemplating a $25,000 offer.0
