John, Yes there are two different versions of the Hornet tailight The early 52 versions of the Hornet tailight were made of glass and has a stainless collar that went around the lens and then attached to the bezel. After a very short production run, the lenses were then switched to all plastic in mid model and used an entire different attaching system from the previous lens production. It stayed that way until the end of the 53 production. If you find any lenses at all they likely are from the later plastic production. The early glass lenses are very rare and if one breaks on your car...good luck. BTW the two systems of lenses will NOT interchange.0
