H8 distributor gasket

My C8 has a leak from the distributor hole, seeping around the distributor. I am guessing there should be a gasket there, and mine does not have it. I rebuilt it myself but do not remember there being a gasket there. Anyone know for sure?

    Thanks, just ordered one for me and one for my buddy down the road with a '49 C8 w/ the same problem.
