Steel is the origional so if you go for origionality that is what you would use. The plastic plugs actually seal better but of course aren't the origional item. Your call on this one.0

Well, you know me, I want original ones. I'm going to put seam sealer on mine and they'll seal fine with that. Debating on whether or not to use Lizard Skin on the interior of the car, but if the seam sealer even thought about not working the "Skin" certainly would.0 -

No Rick these are the real deal. No repops . The plastic plugs are substitutes but the metal ones are real.0
