1950 Brougham on EBay
There is a 1950 Super 6 Brougham on EBay that has a split rear window. I have 2 (maybe 1-3/4 would be closer to the truth) 1950 Pacemaker Broughams and both have a single piece rear window. Did the Supers and/or Commodores have different rear windows than the Pacemakers?
No big deal, just curious.

in 50, all coupes and all Pacemakers used the small one piece window which is the same as 48-49. The Commodore and Super sedans incl broughams used the larger two piece window. In 51 everything went to the larger window but made as a single piece.0

The seller of this Super Six claims the engine to be a 232, but I thought the longer wheelbase Hudsons from 1950 only came with the 254 eight cylinder or 262 six cylinder engines and only the Pacemaker had the 232. Nonetheless, nice looking car!0

Engine changes are common with Hudsons that were used for normal transportation. Removing a splasher and installing a 6 was very common. Might be that the car is actually a hi pro Hornet with a 232 head? There is a 50 C sedan currently advertised for sale in Texas which has just such an engine swap.0

It is not a 308 and it has a single barrel carburator installed. I think somebody swaped out the 262 for a Pacemaker 232. It would be interesting know what the engine number is.0 -
Hi all, take a good look at the pictures provided by the seller.
I see a narrow block 262 with a 2 bbl. carb,WGD engine is a 1950 as it has the temp sender located to the front of the head. This was not the location of wide block engines.
Looks to me that the copy writer made an error in his description.
Just my observations.

Ric, I'll agree that with 4 bolts, it's a 2 barrel. I'll venture that its a 55-56 block casting and narrow block head. notice the serial number boss between cyls 1 and 2; as for the head, yes it has the narrow block thermostat position but it dose not have a raised 262 or 500 the c.i. narrow blocks did. Also the head seams thick, another indication of a later casting. 262 or 232 is a mystery.
coincidently, there was another vehicle posted recently that appeared to have a non-308 hash block, and had a "500" head.0
