hudson truck motor mounts
hello all - my truck needs motor mounts , i have a 308 motor i would like to put into the hudson truck. it had gotten the mounts chopped out of it when someone swapped out a motor some time in the past . most likely the different models use the same mounts i am hoping someone out here has a junk frame with decent motor mounts still attached that they would be willing to remove and sell .
. any other suggestions will also be appreciated . thanks GH

thanks for the reply i looked at it a little more after what you said about the frame holes being there already and got out the measuring tape and sure as you say it looks like the 308 is going to drop in and if the original 212 mounts had still been there i would have needed to remove them .
i was told by a reputable hudson person that i would need to do some cutting on the sheet metal on the inside fenders but since my fenders are off the frame i will find out later when its time to put them back thanks again it would be much more difficult to do this with out the forum as a help to ask questions - gh0 -
walt's garage-53 wrote:If your truck is 1940 to 1947 the 308 drops right in. All trucks were made for 8's also so the eight front mount holes are already in the frame and this matches the 308 front motor plate. Walt.
The above statement is true if your truck is a 3/4 ton long wheelbase unit. If it is one of the '40 thru '42 short wheelbase 1/2 ton units, the 308 engine will not fit in that chassis.

Well, what you really need is the large cupped washer that the rubber donuts fit into. You should tack weld that in place over the holes in the frame originally used for the radiator with the 212 engine.
K-Gap has new rubber donuts..the large one on top and the smaller one under the frame mounting hole. Use with the appropriate washers top and bottom and put the spacer inside the lower donut.
The radiator then, goes on brackets mounted to the front set of holes in the cross member. I got mine from a guy who got them from Bill Albright. A pretty simple 'Z' bracket if you have to make them.0
