Bob,
This is Phil, Billy's son. He's in pretty rough shape. He is on morphine, as needed, for pain, plus his oxycodone pill. He's very depressed and they've given him a couple of nerve pills for that. He has oxygen but doesn't like to use it. The 'plan' they've got him on now is just to control the pain. He has a LOT of swelling in arms, legs, feet and even hands. And his abdomen is swollen up to where it's nearly hard as a rock. Dr's won't draw off the fluid from his abdomen as they say it will only come back "with a vengence". When I pulled up his e-mail and was telling him who had e-mailed him, he said to just let you know.

Bob,
He said he doesn't care a bit for you posting his info. He has me logging into the chatroom and forum and telling him what's on there.
To bring you up to speed, Tuesday a week ago his sugar dropped during the night to a dangerous low. Mother couldn't wake him up around 7 AM so she called the ambulance and Dr, and the Dr said to give him a shot of Dextrose (she had 1), which brought him around. Ambulance came but since he was alert & oriented, they didn't transport. Same thing Wednesday morn, blood sugar in 40's, didn't have any more of the shots at home, and ambulance called. First Responders couldn't make him respond but when paramedic in ambulance came, he injected D-50 (50% dextrose solution, glucose is 5% dextrose) directly into his chemo port, and he slowly started to come around. They transported him and he stayed in hospital at Selmer until this past Tuesday. He is very swollen, as I wrote earlier. He got his hospital bed Wednesday and they started him on morphine. Either Thursday or Friday got oxygen generator and more 'stuff'. His breathing is often shallow. I came over Thursday night and my wife and I are staying til at least 11 Oct as we'd planned to do as my wife is out of school all next week (fall break, she's a school secretary). A retired doctor that they go to church with told my mom to give him all the painkillers he asked for to keep him comfortable.
But Daddy says he's ready to go. He KNOWS where he's going. He has a testimony about the Lord that would make a Baptist shout (I can say that, I'm a Baptist song leader!) Dwight's been keeping up with him regularly and he enjoys that, and Nell stays in touch. Thanks for keeping us all in your prayers. I'm checking his e-mail for him and keeping him up to date on that.
Take care,
Phil

Bob, you might want to post Billy's e-mail address for the benefit of those who either don't have it or aren't aware of how to send an e-mail through Classiccar. You could probably "mask" it from the "spam robots" by adding an HET at the beginning, or something like that.0

Jon:
I'm sure Billy would appreciate prayers and comments about interesting things about "Hudson cars/trucks". Email to
Billy Kemp HETbilly196@centurytel.net drop the HET. Thanks, Bob0 -

Nell,
Thanks for the note. Daddy's pretty low. He's almost quit eating. All he had yesterday was one small pancake with syrup, part of a cup of coffee, and 3-4 bites of slaw and about the same of a fish fillet last night. He's out of it most of the time. I can tell he's going down fast. At the first of the week he could carry on a conversation pretty good. He was alert and oriented part of the time, now he sleeps most of the time, mumbles when he tries to talk, and just wants to be left alone. MaryAnn and I will be here til Sunday or Monday. I've been checking his e-mail and the Hudson Chat & Forum and reading them to him, but he just isn't interested in either any longer.
Thanks for your prayers.

I received this e-mail today from Philip:
Everyone,
This is Phil, Billy's son. Mother is having his internet cut off as he isn't able to even get out of bed. I don't know how much longer he can ask. On morphine, 1 CC every 2 hours and oxycodone pill. Oxygen too.
Thanks to all who have e-mailed about him. I've read all the e-mails to him but have to go home this afternoon and mother has no idea of ANYTHING with a computer. I really appreciate knowing he's got a lot of good friends who are still praying for him.
