Acceptable 262 compression?
I'm looking at buying a 262 6-cylinder engine. Owner says it runs great and doesn't use oil. He did a compression test and reports all cylinders between 90 and 100 psi. That seems a little low compared to what I've read on the forum. What is the acceptable range? Any idea of how much life in this engine?
This will be my third purchase trying to find a running engine.
Thanks much,
Bryan

I think I remember reading in the manual that with stock engines anything above 50 psi should allow the engine to fire and anything below means you need new rings, this assuming that the oil is up in the chambers.0
