'55 Oil Filter and Engine Mounts
Hi All,
I have just received some more parts for my '55 Hornet. I have what I believe is the correct oil filter assembly but looking at the bracket I cannot work out where it fits. I am also having a little trouble working out where the oil lines fit to the block.
There is a 3/4"(approx) threded hole in the left side of the block, from the pictures I have been able to find it appears these are plugged with a bung. Is this correct? What is this for? It seams to be tied up with the oil passages.
Does anyone have any photos they could upload to show the fittment of the oil filter and lines? (the pics I have googled don't show much detail).
Also I am chasing front motor mounts, is there somewhere I can get these new? Is the Left and Right mount different? they look like they should be
Thanks Kaleb

Kalab - The threaded hole with the "bung" contains the oil pressure regulator ( spring and plunger ) . The oil filter lines attach to the two 1/8"
pipe openings above and below this "bung". The pressure line to the filter attaches to the top opening and the return te the bottom. The oil filter usually mounts to two 5/16" threaded holes in the block above and back of the distributer on stepdowns. I dont know if '55s are the same. Norm0 -

Thanks for that Dusty
Unfortunately I live in Australia, but I am still looking for some good front motor mounts and would be willing to pay for postage if I can get some reasonable ones.

Hi All
I have just been out looking at the Hudson again and it appears there is four 1/8" approx connections in the block. Can anyone tell me what the other two are? Anyone have any pics showing this side of the motor to guide me?
Thanks Again

For the motor mounts try contacting Paul Schuster. He is PAULARGETYPE on the board here. He is the 55-57 hudson guru.0
