Hydramatic Transmission
I have a 1951 Hudson Commodore 8 with a single range hydramatic. I have taken the front torus out of the transmission to put a new seal in the transmission. Can anybody tell me where the two washers go that were in the torus. One is steel and one is brass. The steal one has a notch on the inside that appears to go on to one of the groves of the small spline of the front shaft of the transmission. I think they go between the two inner pieces of the torus but I wanted to be sure.

the one with the notch goes on brfore you install the lock nut that hold it all together and when nut is tight you bend it over the nut to lock in place. The other washer goes between the 2 vane drives. Inner van drive, then washer, then collar and then the spring. Slide on the outer vane drive and then do as stated first.
