Paint Formula Needed
I'd like to obtain a formula for color; Texas Tan for my 50 Commodore. My paint store guy ran the numbers on Ditzler color chart and came to a number of dead ends. I'd rather not have him mix paint by a chip and hope it's close. I'd like it match more than just close. If anyone can come up with something in the Serwin-Williams product line it would be much easier to mix. Ideally Base/clear.
Thanks in advance,
Kim

I do not have the Sherwin Williams color formula but here are the Sherwin Williams numbers if that would help.
1951 Texas Tan: Color Symbol H27; Opex 33254; Kem 43918
Opex is the lacquer and I think Kem is the enamel0 -
Thank you sir very much. I knew one of the Hudson Wizards would come through.

contact Hibernia Restorations in New Joisey - they have/had all the original Hudson forumulas from the late '20s on.
They can/used to also provide the paint in nitroceluous lacquer, which late Hudsons were painted with as well as your paint match in modern paints.0 -
You can also have your Paint Shooter order it from PPG.0

I'm striking out on the paint numbers given. Went to website given and I can't seem to pull a number I can take to paint store. I know they're not in business to hand out paint info, so I'm at a stopping point. I don't want to use lacquer. Thanks for all your input.

When I got a small pint from PPG for my Pacemaker, I called the main PPG Customer Service number I found on their web page. i told them I had a 1950 Hudson Pacemake and gave them the code from the front passenger door post.
They hooked me up. It was modern paint so it is not a 100% match, but it got the job done I needed for the short term (until I can affors to have it stripped, dripped, leaded and re-painted).0
