In OCW just received, in "Kenny's Klunkers" section: "1953 Hudson Jet sedan, automatic, complete, ran when parked, good title. Hudson mechanic's family since new, town says must move. $500 OBO. 740-732-5747."

"Ran when parked" can be taken two ways. The car ran when they parked it or that they ran when they parked it.

I think I have some pictures of it somewhere. It's about 25 miles from me. If it's the car I saw a couple years ago and I expect that it is, the story of the mechanic should hold true as he had bought out an old mechanic not long before I saw it.

As for "ran when parked" there's another thread going where that describes the guy's problem or I guess the problem is that it wouldn't run after it was parked.
  • Yeah, I heard about a pacemaker sitting in a field behind some trees.
I found the guy that owned it and He said " It ran when we parked it". Yeah, 30 years ago! LOLOLOL

If you knew my older brother Stephen, you would understand. He was what you would call the "anti-transmission mechanic". He had a way of damaging the transmission so that the car would still move under its own power but you couldn't drive it on the street. The engine in the car was still "running fine" when the tow truck hauled the car to the junkyard.:p
