Alternator/compressor brackett
I have designed for my Hudson an alternator/compressor brackett that follows the same basic pattern that Park Waldrop used on his '52 convertible that I feel is really functional. I'm not versed on how to post pictures on this website, but if anyone is interested in seeing what it looks like, send me a personal message and I will send you picture via email. I've made tentative arrangements with a local steel company to manufacture the large plate that Mr. Hannah used to make. If there is enough interest, I might be able to offer this thing as a kit at a reasonable price.
Jason
P. S. I have already cleared it with Park about using his design.

If you would like, e-mail me the pics you want to post, and I'll put them up for you. Otherwise, I'd be interested in a pic, anyway, even if you don't want it posted! I'd also likely be a future customer, as well.0 -

Russell, I sent the photos via email to Dave Fury for him to post them for me. I clicked on "Rick" like you said and nothing happened. It appears that the ability to post pictures has been "compromised" (I love that word) from what I'm reading above. PM your email address and I'll send the pictures to you anyway.

Russell,
Ignore that last message. I've responded to the wrong email. I'll send you some pictures shortly.

Pic posting link still broken Jason. I'll try again later tonight.0 -
For those of you who are interested, I can offer the brackett for $250.00 plus $25.00 shipping and handling. The manufacturer made me a prototype that is slightly different from the one I sent pictures of in that the tension/spacer is square and not round (couldn't find the tubing needed at a reasonable price), but who says you can't put a round bolt in a square hole. It takes them a day to make a set so the delivery time shouldn't be long once the check clears. If anyone is interested, let me know.

some how we are going to need to get a photo posted here. Maybe a picture of Park's bracket would help also. I know i am planning to alternator and a/c my 41 in the near future.

Sorry for the delay. I was out of town this past weekend. I received the pics via e-mail, but for some reason cannot get them posted due to "not a valid image file", even though it is a jpeg image and I shrunk them down to be under the board's limits.
I don't know what else to try and also, I don't know if this is on my end or a problem with the forum, as I have not posted any pics since the re-boot and face-lift.0 -

The pictures of Jasons Protype bracket can be viewed at each of the following links:

Jason asked that pictures with the mounts installed be posted. These pictures replicate what is shown in the Park W thread:

All you have to do is click on the link and the picture will open... you can save the picture to your computer by right clicking and chose save to the file you desire.
Good Luck Jason0 -

Ken, none of the three links will accept my name and password. Lee
I was to quick before your last post. Looks like a nice compact set up from what I can see. Do you know if it will work on a 212 engine?0 -

Lee sorry... failed to convert the address when I posted ... should work now.0 -

Lee the method being used will surely work... but you will have to do the measuring and check with Jason to ID if what he is building can be used. If not ... modify the necessary measurements to work with your application and you should be in business...0 -
Still having trouble linking photos from Motorhood to the Forum, so here's the old fashioned way: See if you can view my pics of the bracket at http://classiccar.com/index.php?option=com_community&view=photos&task=album&albumid=71&userid=47612&Itemid=50

Russell go back a few posts... I have the pictures posted via my Server... each comes up as a single picture in a new window.
The CCS for your picture site is not working either.0 -
I have updated the post with all the picture links including the installation links that Jason requested I add. it is several posts back ...0

Tried yours, and after a very long time, got to your photo-posting site and it said ACCESS FORBIDDEN. Glad I hadn't tried to figure out posting photos yet, as the new system has even the pros befuddled. Please let us technophobes know when it's all sorted out!0 -
I intend to have both the alternator and compressor as well as the belts attached to the block by tonight. I have talked to my developer about lowering my costs since the initial development costs won't be there anymore. He said he would and for that reason I'm dropping the price to $200.00 plus shipping based on where the buyer lives. If you guys don't mind helping post the finished project, I'll send you the photos to post for me.
Thanks,

Send them to Rick, I'm still having trouble posting more than a link.
Also, I'm still a customer. New price looks good to me.0 -
Thanks Rick for posting the pics for me. I meant to send one that shows how the belts line up. As you can see, it follows the same pattern that Park used on his Hornet, with the difference being the tensioner rod that I used. If anyone has questions, you can send me a PM and I'll answer them ASAP.

Did anyone ever hear what happened to these brackets? Are these still a go?0
-
BUMP! Anyone have any news on this? I PM'ed Jason, but no response.0
-
Russell,
I just happened to see this post. I sent you a PM. Yeah, I have one already made and I guess the guys at the steel works are amenable to making more. I haven't been in contact with them since nobody seemed interested.0 -
If someone is getting a batch of these made count me in0

Since I never got much of a response (Russell excluded), I haven't been in contact with the steel company to if they will still make them for me. I'll check with them Monday and see if they still have the prototype and will make some kits for me at the price I had worked out with them earlier. I wasn't going to order a bunch of these things and nobody buy them.

One thought, if you are concerned about getting "stuck" is take non-refundable deposits, at least to cover your costs.
I'd be happy to send a deposit, if you wish.0 -

Assuming that the price of steel hasn't skyrocketed and I can still offer the product at $200.00 plus $25.00 shipping, I don't see the point in asking for a deposit to cover my costs. At that price, I figured that it would be a one step process. Just so we understand each other, the "kit" contains the large metal plate that attaches to the block, the A/C bracket plate and the tensioner bolt. You will need to use your own generator bracket with spacers to attach the alternator like Park did or buy a universal generator/alternator bracket like the kind I have on my car. Right now I'm on hold as I haven't heard back from the guy at the steel company.
Jason
P.S. If he doesn't get back to me, I'll sell you the one I have and after that I'm probably going to go out of the A/C/alternator bracket business. I don't have the patience for it.0 -
I just talked to the guy at the steel company. He is still willing to make the kits for me at the same price. He wants to do them at least two at a time as it cheaper for him to set up. It will take a week for them to make a set. He's waiting for my call. If you definitely want one, send me a PM and I'll give you my personal paypal information or my mailing address if you want to send a check. I'm going to make sure you get one Russell, but anyone else it's first come first serve.0
