Truck update
I finally have the truck running and driving. The brakes are working, but still need some bleeding and adjustment. Most of the lights don't work, I guess that's next after brakes. The sbc 350 runs good, so I think it will be good as is for awhile. It is quiet and doesn't smoke. The transmission seems to shift well after a fluid and filter change. It has a posi chevy rear end which seems to be in good order as well.
I drove it around the yard today, and couldn't resist driving down the driveway to the cul de sac. It sounds pretty good with the side pipes, but they have some leaks and will need to be replaced soon.
I think I like the look without the running boards. I'll put the tailgate back on soon again too.
This truck was last on the road in 1989, but hopefully it will be back on the road by the first of the year.

What can I say, I guess that's what I get being the only male in a house of 6. Both our cats are female, our dog is a male and is scared to death of all cars...0 -

At least until the snow flies....
I bought it with every intention of making it my daily driver. It's taking a lot longer than planned, but it will get to that point. Even when it snows here (which is rare), they barely salt the roads. It will be a year round driver.0 -
Matt:
Nice looking truck, make a video so we can hear the side pipes. Need pics of the motor, we need to be impressed to work harder on our rides.
You have a nice family, glad to meet your Dad and wife. Drive carefully, your women need you. Glad ya'll made it to PF. Bob0 -

my big 'ol cat has a favorite sleeping spot right on top of the cab of my 41 pickup, is there something about hudson pickups and cat's that we don't know about??0 -
I like your truck. What kind of engine?
Bring it to Laughlin some time. There were two pickups and one Terraplane pu this year.

It has a 350 sb chevy , 350 turbo trans, and a chevy 10 bolt posi rear end. I plan to leave the engine for now, but ultimately would like to replace it with a 308 I have. I will probably leave the auto transmission though.0

I made an error. Being a Hudson PU owner that was a bad error.
There were 3 not 2 Hudson PU's as well as the Terraplane PU at Laughlin.
Chalk it up to senior moment.
Matt, owning 3 Hudsons, you are entitled to one modified. Keep the 350 and put the 308 in the Vanagon. Woops, that would be two modified. Are you allowed more than one modifed? Ha
Have a good day, Lee0
