Norm Blackmer from CIC CHAPTER started this event 25 years ago. I'm glad he did. This was my 3 rd year participating and it was just alot of fun. What makes it so special is getting together with a grate great group of people.
We would welcome your our appearance here next year. How about driving one of your cars here? You would be a shoe in for the longest distance award.
By the time you arrived here your economy driving skills should be well honed.
In 1981, when the speedlimit was 55 MPH, I drove my 64 El Camino from Elizabethton, Tn. to Burbank, Ca. and averaged 26 MPG. It made for a very long trip at that speed!!!
Hope you and anyone else can make it here some time.

Best layed plans of mice an men.. is how I remember the quote. I've made it to Laughlin several times and was planning to be there this year. Was going to bring the English Hudson, but, alas, I spent the weekend doing body work and paint prep. It is a great show, I will be there next year. From here in Northern Utah, it is a two day drive....0

the object of attention in the top photo is a '53 Hornet cp., driven down from Vegas, with a THICK Clifford head, Clifford intake manifold, a Demon carb., and a supercharger arrangement (I AIN'T into hot-rodding so can relate intelligently all the other attendant goodies) - I have several exc. "under the hood" pics of this car but don't know how to post them here.
Other great cars: Buzz Stahl's '50 C8 cp. (1st outing), beautiful '49 C6 conv., gorgeous '36 T PU, etc.
I've got the pics in Picasa but don't know how to transfer them here. Sent some to Sam last night.
Had a great meeting with some of my oldest HET pals - at dinner Sat. night there were 5 of us, 3 of whom have belonged over 40 years!0 -
It was a great meet. Low turn out. I think there were about twenty-five or six cars this time. Usually we see around thirty-five or forty. Still a great meet and thanks for the pictures Matt. I didn't get to talk with you, you must of left early, or I was in the casino trying to get my twenty bucks back. Which never happened!
Hey 'oldhudsons' I'm looking forward to seeing that super charged Hudson. It was only there for an hour or two I guess, and I missed it too.0 -
Here are photos my Dad, Lee Royer, took.0
