O.K.;

This just can't be a step stool! Is it a footrest from some seven passenger phaeton? With a 2+ inch slope it has to be off one of our automobiles. Who can answer?

  • It seems to me that sometime back someone here identified it as a footrest that was on a "Hudson" brand barber chair. Either that or my mind is still capable of "far-out" conjecture.:rolleyes:..slim

    That's right, it's from a barber chair.

    Yep, definitely a Hudson barber chair foot rest. They are sort of cool to have in the backseat of a pre-war Hudson sedan, this is even a good price. I got mine for $15 at a garage sale in my neighborhood. I pulled up in my Hudson and the guy ran out and said that I had to have it. I didn't argue.

    I can't believe it. The seller says it is an OLD part from a Hudson?. I didn't know that there was any other company that had the name HUDSON ?. DUH- Hudson was into pest controls,sprayers and accesories too, even though I have never seen it in a dealer catolog, something else to collect that Hudson made-BARBER CHAIRS and accesories. Wow,need to build a larger place to put those too!!! LOL:eek:

    Don't forget, Dayton Hudson, one of the biggest corps in the US and probably descended from the same corp that funded our Hudson!

    Sure must have been a lot of Hudson Barber chairs around. I see these on ebay quite often. I heard years ago the these were foot stools from the shoe dept. of the Hudson stores. Who knows?

    A search run on ask.com turned up 9,060,000 hits for the word "hudson" - Google did better with about 11,800,000.

    Everything from Henry Hudson to Hudson Boat Works to City of Hudson!!!

    Sort of like the old Hudson chat page where in days of yester-year we discussed everything from Aardvarks to Zulu warriors. :D (And, yes, we did discuss something called Hudsons also!!)

    The footrests on the pre-war Hudsons are more solid, not so much like a grate. diamond pattern I think. Ah for the days when having a little extra leg room and a footrest was the pinnacle of luxury huh ? LOL
