Manufacture date???

I have a 54 Super Wasp and would like to know when it was made.



The number is 5292022 Model D



IF anyone can help I'd appericate it

    Hi Dusty,



    Since 1954 numbers don't go to 5xxxxxxx, we dropped that giving a serial number of 292022.



    According to the chart in my General Information Handbook (selling these for $25 in a nice 3-ring binder) your car would have been built in January 1954 (291689-293766).

    Going by the production list 1954 production started in August 1953 - and ran to October 1954 (so the last ones were built under American Motors.



    Since your's was built in January 1954, it is a realatively early production model - just not that early is all. :D
