Worn Head Light Switch

I have torn this switch apart and cleaned it but there is still some play and you have to fiddle with the switch at time to get the correct lighting sequence. Is there a new switch from a different make that can be used with the Hudson's knob to look authentic had the wiring altered to work correctly?

I know there is a possible NOS switch on Ebay and I may be able to locate a used one from a '53 that is being parted. But I would like other possibilities in case a Hudson switch becomes hard to find.

  • Hey Pat!

i have the same problem. as far as ive found we might use a rotary switch from a british car such as a Jaguar. Unfortunately they have a off-pilotlights-headlights-foglights , so theres one turn too much. Anyone knows any other solution ?

I think the Lucas switches on British cars have only three positions- off, flicker and smolder. Maybe the upgrade "Prince of Darkness" model has 4. . .
