51 - 52 8 Cyl Engine compartment details
My 52 Commodore 8 convertible has returned home after a 2 year stint in the restoration shop. New paint and chrome, stainless redone, upholstery and all sorts of other work done. One problem though, I have lost the photos which showed the location of the engine compartment decals. Can anyone help me with these little details. I know where the air cleaner and body stickers go but i can't locate photos of the radiator and tire pressure stickers.
Can you help..... please.
This car is now way better than ever and it needs the little details to be right. HELP!!
thanks

Lewis, As you look into the engine compartment with the hood open, the yellow tire pressure decal goes to the left side of the hoodlatch on the tie panel.0

If you were to look at the pictures, "laughlin nev. 2009 photos" you can see it in the pictures. And iam sure it will be pictured in any of the pictures albums.0

I sent you an email the day of your post Lew. It referenced someone who sent me the pictures of the engine compartment that I needed. Do you want me to re-send it or do you have what you need?0

Bull...
if you could send me the email again, I would be grateful. (essexadv@comcast.net)
Does anyone know where the radiator decal goes?
I have seen both the tire and the radiator decal on both sides of the hood hold down. Any help appreciated0 -

From the few Hudson factory pictures that I've seen of that era, the tire pressure decals are to the left of the hood latch. BUT, you know Hudson, there could have been a short amount of time where it was reversed due to who knows what? It seems to me that in the relatively short time I've been involved with the marque, as soon as someone shows up and says, "Hudson never did that!", then like likkity-split, an example shows up and contradicts the statement.
It has been an enlightening aspect to me and should be for many Hudson owners who are original-conscious that there is a lot of freedom in one's "Originality Quest" due to the disparity in "standard operating practices" and also to the lack of documentation as to assembly procedures.
Additionally, I've yet to have seen a radiator ("Caution Fan?") sticker on a Hudson. Can't believe I missed it, actually, but interested in a definitive answer when you get it.0 -

Don't know if you ever found out about the location of the radiator decal, but I did notice on Russ Maas' "new" '53 Hornet Convertible, the sticker is to the immediate right of the filler neck and located right on top of the radiator.
Do we get to see pics of your new and recently re-re-built efforts?0
