Last day of the Year! Five inches of new snow (that I had to shovel before I could go get the car) Temperature in the single digits. Roads were beyond bad, but here we have it. Fresh Paint! Black and Black Watch Tarten Green (custom mix). The photo's are from fresh off the trailer.....

Congrats on a great paint job. I like the line and the color combo also.

Fantastic! Can't wait to see it with all the brightware on and glass installed.0

sure looks unique Brownie + great paint job!
by the way, what's that white "fungus" or whatever it is, on the driveway?
LOL0 -
Indeed - what the others said. It is a beautiful paint job - I especially like how they carried the green onto the hood side panels.
A sure winner.

That was a long and hard decision. When it was down to the frame it could have gone either way. Hudson put all the holes where they needed to be to mount it on either side. With the history on this one I decided it needed to be where it is? The first owner of this car was the Governor General of Hong Kong or the British Government--records are not that clear, but it was in Hong Kong until just before WW II made it reasonable to ship it to Canada. Got another six inches of snow last night so I now have some hours to start the assembly.0

this is going to be 1 fine automobile when you get it finished, and yes it will be nice to see all the bright work on it and the steering wheel is where it should be LOL

I once installed a 360 Mopar/pushbutton auto into a '65 English Bristol (think scaled-down Rolls) for a Presbyterian minister who rescued it from a pasture somewhere over the pond. When it came time to take it for a test drive, I had to concentrate on keeping most of the car on my side of the road while driving down a two-lane highway with a considerable crown.
Actually with the narrow body it is pretty easy to drive on the "wrong" side. My ET8 is LHD here in a RHD country and it's something I don't even think about now as there is no disadvantage, and in fact the advantage is being able to step out right onto the footpath when parking.0 -
I second that, driving on our roads with LHD does not pose any problem, having been doing it for 20 years now, one advantage I find is that you do not drive in the outer edge of your lane, you stick close to the footpath side, you look at the other cars in front and they are about 2 or 3 feet closer to the centre of the carriageway, more chance of getting side swiped by oncoming traffic.0

Gorgeous, Brownie!
Looks like they installed the steering wheel on the wrong side, though.
Is this an oxymoron? The steering wheel is actually on the RIGHT side!0 -
Having lived in England for a few years driving "English Style" is no longer a challenge. I have a few miles (with no fenders, hood and the like) on her starting to fix the kinks and I must say that even though it has been a few years I have taken to "right-side" driving like the Queen's ducks take to water. Would love to have the Hudson back on some of those roads where she would feel at home-would not expect it to happen.
Just have to mention, along with the sweet purr of the 8 is the joy of looking over all of that hood. It looks much like a highway pointing into the west heading for the sunset. Dark, wide under the seat where you sit and then tapering to a narrow roadway with a line down the center in the distance. I have a TV in the shop and I sat last night and watched part of the football game (drive in style) from the drivers seat looking out over the hood. Life is good--here somewhere west of Salt Lake!!!!0 -
It looks fantastic Brownie! Congrats.0
