'37 Terraplane headlight wiring

:confused Slowly putting my '37 Terraplane sedan back togerther. Noticed the headlight wiring is a disaster. So I want to repair/replace it. The owners manual shows the diagram but does not mention what gauge. Question: What gauge do I use? and should I use fuses or circut breakers? I do not plan on driving this car much after dark, but we all have found ourselves out later than we planned. So lights are important. Thanks in advance, Arnie in Nevada

The Rebel Wire generic 6-volt wiring harness uses 14 ga wires for the headlights, and 16 ga for the parking lights and the turn signals. Originally. the headlights were fed through one of the fuses on the back of the light switch. You could easily add a supplementary fuse block.
Have you considered installing headlight relays while you are into this job?
John Battle has upgraded his headlights to relays and heavier than standard wiring. Watch for his comments on your query.
