    Lookin' good, Dave!

How is the quality of the plating? Reasonably priced?
  • I think he is doing a very good job, especially givin the shape of the parts I gave him. I have just about all my chrome pieces finished and am right at $1900. There were a few pieces that I asked him to re-do and he had no problem with my request. Very easy to work with.

Watch out for the STRIP AND DIP guys. If not triple plated, strip, copper, nickle plated then chromed, it will have a short life. My door handles cost me $70.00 each, 14 years ago and still look like they were just done. I won't say what the complete job cost me for the whole car. Walt.
  • Walt, I was not there to watch Pete do the work but he told me he did exactly as you suggested. I took the parts to him in November and just got them back last week. He told me that if you do not nickel plate the pieces the chrome will not adhere to the metal and will flake off in time. He has done a lot of work for the guy that is hepling me with my restoration. He just finished a '58 Eldorado Convertible that Pete did the chrome work. Work looks really good. No strip and dip job there either.
