232 engine w/trans for sale
This is not mine, but a guy here locally (Maryville TN) has a complete 232 engine and standard trans from a 51 Pacemaker for sale. According to the owner, it ran when it was pulled. The car shows 88K on the odometer, and had been sitting a long time. The head and manifolds have been removed from the engine, but are inlcuded.
Email him directly if you're interested; HETdominibahindubah@gmail.com
(Drop the HET). His name is Chris.
He told me he would take $200 for engine & trans, he doesn't want to separate them.

It is the stock manual transmission from a 51 Pacemaker. I didn't know of the Rat Rod Rumble until now, I will try to go.0 -

The owner is rat -rodding the car. He has a 351 Windsor lined up for it. The car sat around for a long time and is pretty rough, but it should see the road again this way.0 -

I think so. This car was pretty far gone. I think the owner is intending a very low buck redo. The rust holes will be meshed and bondo'ed, and new patch panels made as needed. He's lined up all new glass as the original windows are all fogged and cracked. It's flat black with most brightwork painted bright red. It should be a cool project and he's saving any parts he isn't using for the rest of us. This was a 51 Pacemaker sedan that would be headed for scrap or parts otherwise, and he's making something out of it.0 -

No, there is no overdrive.0 -
There's no doubt it is worth saving. As far as I know, everything is there and it did run (I don't know how well). The intake / exhaust manifolds, water pump, starter, generator, head etc ought to be worth hanging on to.
I don't really need another engine sitting around, but if nobody else is interested I might buy it afterall. I would hate to see it scrapped.0 -

I'm like you, I really don't need anymore stuff taking up space. Space I don't really have. However, a piece like that doesn't need to go to waste - I hope you get it.
The Rat Rod Rumble is a good show, disregard the "Rat Rod" naming as the show began before all the negative connotations arose. Mainly pre-muscle hot rods with grudge drag racing all day long. Something has always come up that prevented my going - I hope this year to change that. Maybe we'll finally get to meet up.

That gives me another goal to get my truck on the road. I'd love to take it, although I wouldn't take it down the track. I'll try anyway, gotta get some lights working and the brakes working better. Hopefully we can meet up there.0
