There's a new version of the 52 Hudson diecast available from Fairfield mint. 52 Hornet convertible. Very similar to the previous ones. Differences appear to be the tire in the trunk instead of the continental kit and an opening glove box (at least the glove box on the one I have doesn't open which I think is a Highway 61). $80

  • Is this the same Highway 61 1/18 scale '52 Hudson Hornet Convertible that was for sale last year at the National in Pontiac? (less the 100th anniversary logo).

I believe Highway 61 and Fairfield Mint are two different companies.
  • Several of the Hudson metal models took thier origins from cars Bill Albright owned or built. The Green 51 Hornet coupe (franklin mint) and I believe the 52 Hornet convertible with the continental were based on Bills cars. I recently saw another convertible model of a Red 51 Hornet that appeared to model the car previously owned by Dave Sollen.
  • Al of the 1/18th Hudson Hornets are Highway 61. Fairfield Mint is just a distributor, they have many different manufacturers shown in their catalog, some very nice, some not so nice!
