Good deal on new set of Headers

This looks like a new set of the "long" style Clifford headers. Looks like a good deal to me.... assuming they are not warped.

Remember this post? Since that day (2/21) I have been trying to negotiate with the seller for these headers. She lives in Mesa, Arizona. At first she agreed to sell them to me, and to ship them. She was selling them for her deceased father and described herself as a "work-at-home-selling-things-on-craigslist-mom". I was already to send her the money when she started to get wonky and said it would be too much for her to package them and ship them . I offered to take care of everything if she took them to UPS. Simple? No! She won't take them anywhere and then decides to follow Craigslist guidelines and sell them locally (there' been no interest) and would accept cash only :(. I explained that craigslist is online and anyone can respond. I bought my Hudson Craigslist and made the arrangements to get it here. No big problem. Happens all the time. Right? Nope. Then she tries to relist them for $90 more. I go ballistic  and (sort of) acuse her of trying to drive up the price. She blames it on her husband. I agree to send more money and cover shipping. Nope. I find out that Jet-Hot Coating has a nearby store and suggest drop them off there and I pay her. Nope. Husband won't let her drop them off (probably doesn't let her out of the house). I suggest hubby drop them off. Nope. Now She and hubby won't leave the house, and will accept cash only from a local person. They've probably loaded the guns. Do these people belong to a religous cult? If anyone who lives in the Pheonix area and who has managed to suffer this entire litany is willing to help I would glady compensate for their efforts. Help.
  • Personally, I wouldn't waste my time with them. Originally, I had made her an offer and then she asked me if I was local. She will not ship them. Nut case.
  • Hi I had to send cash Fed-Ex to a local Hudson person who then had to deliver cash to her house. It has been a long ordeal that is almost over. Some people just simply do not want to deal with anyone unless they are local. That is why it is so hard to talk to somebody about money orders or cashiers checks. Sometimes a good deal is not always easy.

Are you talking about the headers that are still up for auction. Funny they still have 6 days left on them? Also they are the same folks that have the clifford head thats been talked about here?

    Am I missing something???

The sellers are different. The one on ebay is in CA and the opening bid is $281 (why $281?). The set I've been after sits in, well I won't say it, .....AZ, price is $195.

Some buyers (in the case of buyers) do that - go an odd dollar. The theory is the buyer is the only one that does it :D - everybody else bids in even increments, ie $280, etc. Crazy idea, but it's worked more than once. LOL

    I've done it myself.
