install help - splash guards
I just got my splash guards from KGap for my '54 Hornet and I am clueless as to how they are attached. They have three holes in the wider section. I notice (see pic) that something was stapled to the metal splash guard (dark smudges under each staple hole). Anyone know how to mount these? Thanks.

These are very easily installed. If you look, the 3 holes will correspond with 3 screws in front of the corner and in the bend there is a screw. It is kind of folded up in the corner After it makes the corners, they were stapled. I use 3 self tapping screws to attach these. If you are making a showcar and wish to re-staple them, remove the vertical splash guard to install the staples. I use stainless steel welding wire to make staples with. Also, the split in the rubber fits between the rocker[different on '54's] and the fender. Try laying it in place to give you a good idea of how it goes,it will show you alot. As you can see, there is a hole in the bottom of the corner piece,a screw goes there. Flip it over for the opposite side. The rubber hangs below the rocker. The screws that hold it on had a round flat washer 3/4 in dia.with a #10 hole in it. 3 per side originally required. Hope this helps.0

I recently installed the splash shields in my 53 Hornet. The side with the two holes is the bottom and as previously stated that goes in the corner between the firewall and the engine. The second hole from the end matches a hole on the triangular piece shown in your picture. In the lower right side of your picture you can see the trianglar piece and the hole in it. Once you match this hole up, the other two should match up with their respective mounting points. I used sheet metal screws with fender washers for these 3. I also used pop rivets instead of trying to rescure the staples.
