35 Terraplane Vin...Thank you

Thanks for all the information from everyone regarding the locations of vin numbers on my Terraplane conv. After cleaning the frame off near the front passenger side, near the rear part of the leafspring,it was found under a thick layer of paint. The front axel and frame match with the numbers 5211951,but I will be searching for the correct engine since it is missing. I started today taking this car apart for a frame off restoration,and will be posting pic as I go along...Thanks again, Sean

    Your serial number should also be stamped on the rear end. Check this out when the body is off the frame.

    I checked the rear for it at first ,and did not see it,but I will look again when the body is off this weekend...Thanks

    Don't know about the 35's but on the rear of my 39 the VIN is stamped on the passenger side axle tube next to the inboard u bolt.



    The VIN might also be stamped on the top of the frame rail on the passenger side all the way at the rear. Of course, the body would have to be removed to find this one! LOL

    The stamp on my '38 is exactly where Kein stated on the rear end. The stamp on the frame is on the passenger side a little past the wheel well.
