What are the two terminals on a late model overdrive solenoid for? There is a fat one and a smaller one?

    Here is a wiring dia.
  • Thanks richie. This is what I need. The only problem is that it's so small that I can't read it. Could you send it in a different format to my email address please. arminard@comcast.net

    Thanks,

All the above correspondence aside, the answer to the original question is that the large terminal is the engagement part of the solenoid, so it connects to the contacts of the OD relay. The smaller terminal is the ignition shorting circuit, so it connects to the distributor side of the coil, via the "bottom" terminals of the kickdown switch (the two terminals furthest from the threaded part of the switch).
  • Thanks to all. I thought I had it wired correctly and I did. I had to check further and found low voltage. It's working fine now.
