I ordered mine from Car Shop, INC. http://www.carshopinc.com
Ignitor Chrysler 6 Cylinder (PERTRONIX - 1362P6) $109.95
Flame Thrower Coil Black (1.5 ohm) (PERTRONIX - 40011)$28.95
Shipping to California was $16.00
I thought it was a reasonable price.

Is this for a 308? I have a 52 308 and have been puzzling over what pertronix is the right one. Thanks. Jim G wrote:I ordered mine from Car Shop, INC. http://www.carshopinc.com

I forgot to mention, mine has been converted to 12V0

If you have 12v you need the 1362 unit.
The 1362P6 for 6V the P6 designates Pos ground 6V0 -

Thank you for the information 51hornetA. This is what the folks at PerTronix had to say when I asked them a few months ago.
"Michael, we do have Ignitor kits for some 6-cylinder 1952 Hudson Hornets. It would have to have an Autolite IAT series distributor. The kit number is 1362. I would also recommend a 3.0-ohm Flame-Thrower distributor part #40511. Thanks, PerTronix"
Can I really use the 3.0-ohm Flame-Thrower distributor part #40511?
I would love to order the parts today. Is it really as simple as ordering a 1362 and 40511 from carshopinc.com or is there something else I need to get in addition?
Sorry Jim G. for stealing your topic.0 -
Thats all you need when I got my kit I got the module, coil and new plug wires. I like the plug wires are they are retro and look stock.
Note the diff on the coil when you run the 12v module you run the 3.0 ohm coil when you run the 6v you run the 1.5 ohm. Just something for folks to keep in mind. Plus remember to open your plug gap up as well. I am running close to 40 thou on mine seems to be the sweet spot for me with the hotter spark.
I have been running both the 6v and 12v module. I have run the 6v in my 51 or over 3 years and its still running strong. They do make a nice coil so I just got the complete setup from them. My local parts guy gets them for me.0 -

Which plug wires are you running?
Jim G.0 -
I am running the Pertronix wire kit they sell. Its nice because they look retro and have that 50's stock look.0
-
Yes I do. Will finish one up tonight for a gent in Ca.
Randy0 -
Yes Randy will rebuild your dist with Pertronix. This is a good option as you have to mod the dist by removing the points bracket. So if you are not up for that he rebuilds them and the nice thing is he makes sure everything is working properly.0

Does this kit have a number, I could not find one for a Hudson 308?
Jim G.0 -
Its not specific to Hudson its the "Stock Look" 7mm kit. Looks pretty good. Part number 708180 and I got the straight ends and used ends I had for the distributor to make it look stock.0

What spark plugs are you running in your 12V setup?
