Fuel Pump Rebuild

Jim Kilday

I've got a couple extra fuel pumps that I have picked up on E-Bay over the years--one a NOS--the other an unused rebuild.
I would like to try my hand at rebuilding one or both.
Am I correct that the NOS pump should be rebuilt because of the potential for deterioration of the membranes? Or, should I just put it on and see what happens???
Who supplies good quality rebuilding kits?
Thanks

I have just done my dual action fuel/vac pump and got the kit from "Then & Now Automotive" 447 Washington Street, Weymouth, MA. Ph. 781 335 8860,
Fax 781 335 1925, email: oldpartstom@aol.com
I also got 2 carb rebuild kits for Carter WA-1. I found them very good and they managed to get the stuff to me here in New Zealand.
The fuel pump was a bit tricky to rebuild being dual action but a standard fuel only pump should be a piece of cake. Hope this is of some help to you.
