What is it and who sells it?

I do not know the names to call it, so I attached pictures. You can see that on my drivers side the rubber pieces have collapsed/worn out. My passenger side is doing a bit better. I am talking about the vertical piece, not the coil spring and shock.

What is it?

Is it important?

Who sells it?

Thanks :D

  • Since the wheels will be off for a brake job, I figure I should take care of other items in the area.

    FYI

Your Sway Bar bushings are worn. Sould be able to get them at JC Whitney or your local Auto Store. If not, type replacement sway bar LINK Bushing in your Search Window. Your Links look ok so just need new Bushings about $2 each....
  • K-Gap sells them and you can get them with the urethane bushings.
  • I purchased the Urethane Bushings at PepBoz. A remove and replace job. Good Luck

Do I just drive into NAPA and they will know what to give me or is there something specific I need to ask for?

    Thanks!
  • The urethane bushings are better than the rubber... will give tighter performance from the stablizer bar. They are very important as the name implies... provide front end side to side stability on irregular surfaces and hard cornerning.

You ask the clerk for replacement bushings for your stabilzer links... You will be holding one of the links you removed to assure fit of the replacement bushings.

    Cheers and Good Luck

Michael, looking at your pics, it might be a good time to clean all the grease fittings and give them a shot of grease as long as the wheels will be off. Richie.

    Michael,

Make sure that you give everything a few good shots of PB Blaster and let it soak in before you attempt to remove the nuts off of the threaded link rod, they can be a real bugger to get off. Go slowly and don't force the nuts, you can easily shear the link rod... trust me, I know.

  • As usual, thank you to all for your help and guidance.
  • So, would this be the time to replace the tubular shocks? How do I know if they still have some life left in them and what replacements fit? Feel free to point me to another thread, since this has most likely been discussed in detail before.
  • Youse guys needa check out KROIL for a penetrating oil . Durn good stuff, just type Kroil in your browser to find out about it and where to getcha some . BUD

Speaking back a few comments to the part ID and where to get it: I used a "Parts Master" K5254 link, as I think you pictured a link between the upper and lower control arm.I took mine off first and then matched it at the parts store. I do like "Energy Suspension" bushing better as they are Polyeurathane and I used them for sway bar replacement plus they have a small grease fitting. I see Energy Suspension hanging behind parts counters at the Zone and Advanced-Those two ran NAPA out of town twice? Oh well
