pertronix installation
I have a 12v pertronix to put into my Iat4009 B distributor with a flame thrower coil and would like to know if I have to take out the plate under the points as I read somewhere else. Also it says in the instructions to attach the red wire to the positive side of the coil and the black wire to the negative side of the coil, which also means the power is also attached to the negative side of the coil. I want to be correct the first time and would appreciate any and help, thank you.

If your car is 12 volts, do as instructions say. You should not have to touch the plate, just remove the points and condenser and install the pertronix ignition parts as per instructions. You have to remove the points bracket to install the ignitor module. If you do not have the instructions for this I can send them to you. They should have come with the module on a small sheet.0
