29 Hudson Tire Repair

Please forgive if I am asking to many questions here. I have a lot to learn.
Is there a manual or instruction sheet(s) on how to fix/repair the tire/tube on a 29 Super Six Town Sedan 10 spoke tire? The Operators manual and what else I have found so far has no mention to the art of repair.
I did repair tubes as a kid on bikes but I've never performed a break down of a 20s tire.
From what I can see and what little I've been able to find there's mention of a Sears tool that is used to collaspe a split rim to allow tire/tube to be removed/replaced. I'm not even sure if the 29 has a split tim.
I'm without tire (car) at the monent but my baby does have a flat 3000 miles away and will need to be repaired when it arrives shortly.
Thanks
Jack

one reason for not being in the Owners Manual is because the std. wheel was the wood wheels with the split rim whereas the wire wheel option was very popular & is taken apart differently.0

I kind of figured that although I thought the wood would have been the moe expensive option.
Anyway I have the wood wheels.
Is there a tutorial on split rim tire maintenance?0 -
Don't know beans about your 29 but we had split rims on our semis why back when . DANGEROUS !!! If they have a lock ring like the trucks had put chains held in a circle with bolts around the whole thing in 2-3 places to keep it from whacking you in the head when you pop it off . We had gages we put them in to break them down and air them up. Many a man paid with his life for not useing them . Do the same when you air it up, it can pop off by itself if not seated good . BUD0

Bud - I think the "Split Rim" used on the Hudson is quite differentg from the style used on heavy duty trucks and semis.0

I haver made a video of how to change split rims. I can get a copy made of it for you on either VCR or DVD. Anyone else interested? Goes for around 10- minutes. I can get them done in either PAL or NTSC format, but have to pay around $30 to get them copied, and postage is $10

I'd also like to purchase that oil pressure gauge for the 29 Town Sedan for you price of $30.

Hi Geoff,
I would like the DVD on the split rim. I have Pay Pal, if that helps.
Please advise.
Thanks,

Gene (and Geoff),
I think that video is the one Geoff sent me to show at our Tech Session at the Pontiac National. Chime in here Geoff; if it is maybe I could save you some time, effort and postage- just let me know how you want me to work it!

Yes, that is the one Joe, can you get these guys a copy, or lend them yours? Will save a lot of hassle at this end.0

Will do, Geoff. I'll get some copies made and make them available.0 -
I made a tool for my 29 H Town Sedan rims. It is pretty simple. It is a lever with parellel hanging arms a couple of inches from the end. The end towards the rim has a 45 degree angle. The two arms have a bolt hole that you bolt through the latch on the rims. The other end of the lever has a heavy wire hook. When you pull on the lever, it pulls the latch on the rim down. Then I slip the hook over the rim and it holds the lever securly while I work with the tire. Makes changing the tire so much easier.0

I found a picture of a Sears tool in use that was the best available, so says the text. Looks to be simple enough. Does anyone have a close up of this tool?
Insert image is off so I cant insert the pix. PM me with email address and I'll send it out.0
