Dual Exhaust Pictures (looking for)

I am looking for pictures of dual exhaust on on hornets. Specifically the back of the car, to see how the dual pipes are set on the back of the car. I believe the stock way to do it was to have both pipes exit on the passenger side and I am interested in how people have gone about it. For example, separating them just enough for dual chrome exhaust deflectors. I am also interested in what muffler options work.

Anyone have any pictures, opinion, experience, ...

Thanks!

  • Thank you! The pictures are great.

Is that a pair of glass packs on your exhaust? What are they and how did you choose them?

    Those are 3" pipes?

How did you decide for dual chrome tips instead of exhaust defelctors?

    Thanks again!

This is kind of the look I'm going for in my '54 coupe. The picture is a little digi but you can see the dual pipes exiting in front of the rear wheels. ;)
  • Thank you for posting. The racer look is nice, but not what I will be aiming for. I will be going for more of a stock driver with a few bolt on performance parts.

With the exhaust running so close to the fuel tank, and no heat shields - have you experienced any problems with fuel delivery?

2.25" pipes (and there tight!) short glasspacks and 2.5" polished pencil tips

welded to the glasspacks. No issues with fuel,if it looks a little close to the

fuel lines its just the picture. NOT a lot of room to work with on a stepdown...

I chose the mufflers just based on the length.

Do you have any under car pictures to show how you routed the exhaust? My muffler guy seems baffled by my 52 Hornet.

    His two main points were:

#1 There is so little room under the car, he actually would like to see pictures of how others have routed pipe.

#2 He can see no way to route pipe anywhere except to the rear passenger side.

Michael, here is a pic of my dual exhaust, I ran two 2' pipes from the adapter back to a point and into one 2 1/4" pipe and then into a Smithy muffler and then split again to exit. You cannot see the cross pipe unless you bend down lower than the bumper. If you want to hear it you can go to youtube and type in hudson004.avi, it is just a short video. Richie.

    Dave-

Michael is not the only one that would like to see those pics. I was perusing the frame last night wondering what might be the best route for duals.
