First-time Hudson owner
I joined HET last fall when I started looking for a Hudson more seriously, and have regularly visited the Forum since then. A few weeks ago I decided to just start "cold calling" the Club Roster, politely asking if anyone with a stepdown sedan knew someone else with a stepdown sedan for sale. I had a great time talking with club members and got a few promising leads.
Ironically, the person whose '53 Hornet I just purchased used to work with me at a transmission shop 30 years ago, and we hadn't been in touch since. The car was just across town from me. Funny how that works.
There are still a few small but important tasks remaining before the Hornet is ready to drive. He installed a 700R4, and all that's needed are cooling lines, cooler and throttle valve cable mounting/testing. I read all the posts here pertaining to 700R4s, but didn't find anything specific about where to mount the TV cable. I did, however, get great leads from the members here on where to go for more info. I made some calls to Bowtie and a few adapter plate makers, and then got in touch with Dany Spring. He talked me through how he mounted the TV cable on his wife's Hudson, and in less than an hour I had pictures from Dany waiting in my inbox. My thanks again for his gracious help.
The more time I spent researching the testing procedures on the Bowtie site, the more respect I have for their clear, detailed and very thorough instructions. I guess if you have a freshly rebuilt 700R4 that's almost completely at the mercy of a valve that travels no more an inch and a quarter and must be set up correctly, you want all the detail you can get.
I now have 2 '46 Roadmasters that are going to see which one of them finds a new home. My wife suggested I list them both, and whichever one goes, goes. Probably the best way to do it, because I am attached to both of them for different reasons. In any case, move over Buicks - there's a Hornet coming to live in the garage.
I really appreciate the help I get from this site, and from the members I've spoken with. I'll post the TV cable pictures from Dany as soon as I figure out why Manage Attachments isn't letting me upload any more photos.

The last new Hudson in my family was a 1953 Hornet sedan the same black and white as your car. My Uncle got a lot of comments on what a handsome car it was.
Welcome to owning a Hudson Hornet!0 -
Thanks for the warm welcome! Home with a cold today, perfect time to take pictures of the two '46 Buicks and write some ads. Soon as one of them sells, I can bring the black Hornet home and get it back on the road where it belongs.
Best, Chris0
