54 Hornet ss retainer strip
Hi All I am looking for a drivers side front fender ss retainerstrip in usable condition, it can have surface rust but no cancer as I will glass bead it or have it cadium plated like the rest please there has to be one still usable left in the world. I know I can buy some from K Gap but why buy new when used will do.That is our local auto wreckage slogan. PLEASE duncan:D

Forget looking for an original as that will be trouble later on. They trap water and road dust and that is the reason they are hard to remove and cause cancer under it. Go with the parts that K-GAP sells. I used these when Press Kale sold them, but I cut them into 1 and 1/2 inch strips. My car has been around this country 11 times and still no rust between fender and retainers. Reason, water drains out and no dust. thanks Walt I thought of doing that but was told that when you cut the strips to 1 1/2 when the ss strip is popped on it will leave streach marks in the ss strip. I sent all the retainer strips and had them cadium plated some were a little pitted but were good otherwise The car is a long ways from 100 points and we live on a gravel road I will just repaint it when the time comes

No way do they stretch out. Just check my car if you go to Spokane, all are held on my way.
